Hi! Welcome to my blog and thank you for your interest.
My name is Rémon (Ray) Sinnema, a software developer from the Netherlands. I’m married to an amazing American woman and have two sons.
I try to be the best I can at what I do. This blog helps me with that in that it allows me to reflect on what’s going on.
The theme of this blog is discovering the best way to develop software. I write about software development in general, with an emphasis on security and cloud computing. I typically publish a post every Monday.
If you are new to my site, you might want to start with my most popular posts:
- Performance tuning a GWT application
- The Registry Pattern
- Running a JavaFX script from an OSGi bundle
- Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with JBehave, Gradle, and Jenkins
- Practicing TDD using the Roman Numerals kata

My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that you can use in your work. If you like what you read here, you may want to subscribe using the links on the top right of this page.
My Biography
I have developed software for over fifteen years.
I started out working on different projects, but switched to products soon and have never looked back. I discovered eXtreme Programming in 2003 and have been using Agile practices ever since.
In 2010, I joined the OASIS Technical Committee that defines the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) standard. Since then, I’ve been focusing more and more on security. I’m the development Security Champion for the product I currently work on.
